The only thing better than a Dad with a good sense of style and a good sense of humor? An equally stylish daughter that can match him wit for wit. This Father’s Day we sat down with our new Vuori Partners Rande Gerber and his daughter Kaia as they played guitar, answered some rapid-fire Q&A, and did what they do best—make each other laugh.
K: “Okay. Okay. Okay, describe me as a daughter in three words.”
R: “First that comes to mind is: kind, pretty...”
K: “The most important.”
R: “That's number two. I would say purely honest.”
K: “That's two words.”
R: “I'm making it one word.”

R: “I'm making it one word.”
K: "What is the biggest lesson you've learned from being my father?”
R: “Wow. To have patience and understanding and... how much I could truly love someone.”
K: “And that you're capable of murder probably.”
R: “At times. Just a thought.”

R: “At times. Just a thought.”
K: “What traits of yours do you see the most reflected in me?”
R: “Number one, I would say a sense of humor and our ability to make each other laugh. And I would say your way with words, but that's definitely from mom. Book smart, that's definitely mom.”
K: “Yeah.”
R: “Oh gosh, what else? Your long legs, maybe?”

K: “What do you love most about being my father?”
R: “Well, I'm proud to be your dad.”
K: “Thanks.”
R: “I think in every way. Just your independence, how caring you are, and how loving, honest and independent.”
K: “Sometimes too independent. I’m not that honest, I'm just a good liar.”
R: “Yes, you are a good liar, maybe. Because I think you are.”
K: “You just think I'm being honest. Yes.”
R: “Easy way of convincing me that you're telling the truth. I'll take that.”

R: “Okay, now let’s see my turn. What's something you've learned from me that you take with you?”
K: “Um… That I can share.”
R: “Yes.”
K: “I learned how to pretend to take a shot.”
R: “Yes, that's good.”
K: “Like a pretty discreet way of not taking the shot.”
R: “Yes.”
K: “I learned how to drive a car and a boat. Hmm… What else have I learned? I feel like you taught me a lot of street smarts. The art of hand-to-hand combat...”
R: “Yes. Important.”

“And what’s the thing you love most about having me for a Dad?” – Rande
“Maybe your incredible music taste? No but seriously your sense of humor. Whatever environment you're in... you just create very good energy everywhere. And you're very funny. You make me laugh.” – Kaia
R: “Thank you.”
K: “You're welcome.”
R: “I'll pay you later for that one.”
K: “Did I get all the ones you told me to say?”
R: “Yeah, that was good. You want to elaborate?”
K: “...And how handsome you are...”
R: “Okay, yes. Good, thank you.”
K: “And how smart you are....”
R: “Oh, gosh.”
K: “And how athletic you are...”
R: “Okay, one truth in there.”
K: “You are very athletic. How competitive you are. I got that from you. I'm no fun at game night because I have to win.”
R: “That's why you're so good at it.”
